OUR MISSON
The Geaux Create Foundation is dedicated to fostering creativity, innovation, and community empowerment by providing resources, mentorship, and opportunities for individuals of all ages. Our mission is to inspire and uplift creators, entrepreneurs, and youth in Baton Rouge and beyond, encouraging them to express their talents, develop their skills, and contribute to a thriving, inclusive creative ecosystem.
GC COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
The Geaux Together Youth Program (GTYP) is an innovative initiative designed to educate and empower adolescents aged 12-14 through a comprehensive curriculum that emphasizes Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE). This program is partially funded by the Louisiana Youth For Excellence (LYFE) Program, which supports initiatives aimed at promoting healthy relationships and responsible decision-making among young people in Louisiana.
GTYP focuses on holistic development, addressing the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of participants. Through a blend of creative workshops, interactive lessons, and practical activities, the program equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed decisions about their health and relationships. Key components of the GTYP curriculum include understanding the benefits of avoiding non-marital sexual activity, building self-esteem, and learning effective communication strategies.
By integrating SRAE principles, GTYP aims to reduce the likelihood of early sexual activity among adolescents, thereby decreasing the potential for negative health outcomes. The program's innovative approach also includes elements of arts and culinary skills, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. With the backing of the state's LYFE Program, GTYP is a leading effort in the community's commitment to nurturing a responsible, informed, and resilient younger generation.
